TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: We can highly recommend Multi-Scape for a variety of professional services. After our invasive earthquake repairs of our home at Diamond Harbour, and being tenanted for 3 of those 5 years, the 3 level terraced gardens were left like a bomb site, and we were faced with the nightmare of trying to fix matters to finally sell the property. Paul came to view the property several times before working out a great design. He brought in a very knowledgeable team, who worked long hours. Because of the steep site and difficult access, everything had to be carted in by hand in buckets, an enormous task. The house was on the market within one month of that first contact with Paul, and sold by the first viewer on the very first day. To seal the deal, he then came in with his painting team to repaint the roof, and sorted out a few other minor issues to enable a clean building report, all done within a matter of days. He went that extra mile, and then some. We cannot recommend him highly enough. Signed, very happy customers, Mark & Pauline Hubbard.
- Paul has done a lot of work for us in our garden and on our farm over about the past five years. He has built raised vegetable beds, pergolas, a wooden wall and a very large hay barn as well as doing miscellaneous fencing jobs and gateways. He is currently restoring and greatly improving a big, old implement shed for us and converting a grain-drying shed into vermin-proof storage. Everything Paul does is to a very high standard and built to last whether it's with timber, metal or machinery. He is also an excellent odd-job man – no job is too small or too big for him.Paul is very direct in his manner – no beating about the bush and he likes to be dealt with in the same way. Paul is totally honest and straight and will always try to get the best deal for you on materials and labour without cutting corners. He will never compromise on quality. We are happy to recommend Paul for any landscaping, building or fencing job that you want done well and to last.
- We were initially interested in a particular style of pergola, demonstrated at a local hardware store, as it was something very much out of the ordinary. We made contact with the design and construction firm with a view to adding something similar to our farm house. With support for some of our own ideas and sound input from Multi-scape we achieved much more than we anticipated. The deck, pergola, veranda redesign and walkways were meticulously designed and constructed with great attention to accuracy, detail and most important practicality. Fitted around this was landscaping and plant selection of the highest order. The result is very complementary to the original farm house and surrounds We could not recommend this design and construction firm highly enough.
To, whomever needs a reliable and versatile contractor.
As a landscape designer for over 40 years, I have engaged many contractors, on hundreds of projects, to carry out extensive earthmoving work, construct driveways and to do construction work which has involved the building of decks, walls, fences, pergolas, raised gardens, steps and bridges etc. During the last 6 years however, I have been able to rely on Multi-scape to do all this work and to know that the service and workmanship will always be of the highest quality. All my clients during that time have expressed gratitude and admiration for the 'attention to detail' and the 'durability' of the work carried out by the Multi-scape tradespeople.
I first met Paul when he was building a deck and pergola on a farm in Hororata. This was not an ordinary deck nor was the pergola ordinary. The decking had various levels and the construction of the pergola was unique. What struck me the most about Paul was his work ethic, his design and his precision. We had just moved to a newish property in Oxford that required some fencing - 1 to add “street appeal” and 2 - to keep the dogs in. I asked Paul if he would be interested in coming to our place and having a look. He asked what our requirements were -“just a fence to keep the dogs in and perhaps adding some “street appeal” we said. Paul doesn’t do ordinary. He went away and researched fencing and what he came up with was outstanding. We now have the most amazing fencing and fabulous gates. Ordinary it is not. Built to perfection it is. Paul brought to our property a vision and a fabulous work ethic. Working with Paul has been a truly great experience and we have no hesitation in recommending him to any future clients. With gratitude Jan and Laurie Page.
In 2014 Paul Hall built raised vegetable beds in our garden. Based on a design by a Landscape archetect Robert Watson. They are made of Macrocarpa and measure 450mm high by 2700m long and 1400mm wide. The macrocarpa was meticulously selected and constructed. The circular space in the centre of the 4 bed design was tricky to make but finely executed. Each bed has a bevelled sitting platform capping the top of the wooden wall. Steps lead down to the lower section of the garden. My husband declares them to be the best in town. Wide tread with a shallow step, easy-grip rails set into macrocarpa posts, each with a bevelled cap. The steps are attractive, safe and comfortable. Pauls piece de resistance would be the farm gate seperating the footpath from the garden. Our new house is wooden and the gate with tall formally arranged plants alongside, invites lots of comments from passers-by. The gate is a recreation from ancient tubura sourced from old Rakaia sheep yeards. The bolt and hinges are painted black with a jarrah hitching post
